Absolutely!!

A subscription to The Pocket Music Post can inspire the budding musician, encourage learning through unique experiences, feed brainiacs fun facts to share with others, ignite the history-lover’s curiosity, get future chefs cooking in the kitchen, give reluctant wordsmiths something to write about, and maybe even become a monthly blueprint for a simple and fun gathering with friends!

Music: Learn about instruments, parts of instruments, musicians, music genres and styles, and more! Each month’s edition includes a guided listening experience where your student can hear the featured instrument or composer in a variety of works.

Fine Art: Each month features a classic work of art, noting the artist, medium, and where (if possible) you might go to view the original work in person.

Reading: We make sure every letter we send is full of fun-to-read historical tidbits and facts. (Don’t tell your students, but we make sure each issue includes a few of those really cool stretch words to help build vocabularies.)

Cooking: Each issue includes a recipe students can prepare. That’s a lot of real-life practice with measuring, fractions, and chemistry! (This most definitely ties to math as well!)

Writing: How would your student like seeing their poem, joke, or anecdote in an upcoming issue of The Pocket Music Post? We accept (and encourage) submissions every month! One subscriber will have their submission published. Everyone gets to enjoy the creative process, and maybe share their writing with friends!

Group Fun: The idea for The Pocket Music Post had its genesis in an old-fashioned parlor musical evening, complete with friends, recitations, and, of course, music. Each issue of The Pocket Music Post can easily work into a monthly gathering where students share the food they prepare, listen together to selections on the theme of the month, and share their own writing on that theme. 

And More! You never know what extra you’ll find in each issue. One month might have a code-breaking activity, another a puzzle or game. We always throw in at least one extra surprise.
